WORDS OF WISDOM
Waiting is and always will be a part of our lives. In looking back at our Caribbean
lifestyles, waiting was something we did without question. In some instances, waiting
could be categorized as an unspoken rule or even a part of our Caribbean culture. Many
of us can easily recall the many times we waited for hours in order to do some of our
daily chores.
For instance a simple bank transaction, a trip to the butcher's shop or even paying a
utility bill could take hours depending on the circumstances. Even though we may not
have given it much thought, all that waiting we did back in the Caribbean prepared us
for life in America.
For many of us who have become accustomed to the American lifestyle waiting have
now become a thing of the past. (On a lighter note) Could the impatient people among
us have lost their patience in the long process of obtaining a United States visa?
The waiting process is never easy, therefore we must practice how to wait in the right
(quiet) spirit. This will take us to a higher level of consciousness that opens the mind to
receive guidance from the Creator. Then as He promises we will renew our strength and
rise up with wings like eagles. We shall run and not get weary and walk and not faint.
It is only then that we can rise above the circumstances that life brings our way.
Let us move forward in 2008 as we wait in the right spirit knowing that the Almighty
has everything under his control.
