Carnival  June 2004
 The Caribbean Festival Committee

Long time President Barbara Wilson continues to do
what she does best she is responsible for the biggest
Caribbean Festival held at Philadelphia’s Penn's
Landing every year. The Caribbean Festival Committee
is an organization that truly brings people together. “All
ah wi a one, “ is not just a logo that appears on posters
and T-shirts but this theme is also reflected in the people
who make up this awesome committee.

The Festival Committee members are mostly always
present at any event put on by other groups. It is never
unusual to hear the name Barbara Wilson at events such
as the hurricane relief fund raisers, or any function that
uplifts the Caribbean as a whole.

We thank this organization for all the scholarships that
they provide to students of Caribbean decent over the
years and as a community we offer our appreciation and
we ask that they continue to do positive things.

POETIC JUSTICE
                 Carnival 2004

“The Philly Carnival” as many Caribbean-Americans affectionately refer to
this annual event was once again a big success.  President Jerome Henry in
his welcome message made reference to the fact that the carnival is about
the celebration of life and freedom. He called on the participants to treat it
with respect and it will last a lifetime.

The City of Philadelphia is supportive of this event. The city politicians are
definitely supportive and have appeared in person or have sent their best
wishes for the continued success of this cultural event.
       Resolutions

Did you make a resolution in 2005?
To change your evil ways and live better lives?
Will you let old habits die,
Don’t let this be a lie?

Did you make a decision to care for those you cherish.
Did you promise not to let your loved ones perish.
Will you stop being neglectful, and let the love come through?
In the past you held it and end up being blue.

Don’t hold back your emotions
Don’t lock them all away.
Put down that silly notion
Look ahead to a brighter day

Did you make a decision to lose a pound or two.
Remember you are always loved,
no matter what you do.

Will you say “I Love You” to those closest to your heart.
Because there is nothing like it, when you’re feeling torn apart.
Will you give them flowers, while they are still here?
Will you let them know, that you hold them near and dear?

Is this the Resolution you made for 2005?
If so, it is important that you “keep it alive.”
